Tirumala, Record collection during Brahmotsavams: TTD EO
The ‘hundi’ collection, including Arjitham and Vagapadi in the world famous Venkateswara Swamy temple here touched a record over Rs 20.18 crore during the last eight-days alone as against over Rs 14.92 crore during last year with an increase of over Rs 5.26 crore. Briefing newspersons here today, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Chief Executive Officer M G Gopal said there was an increase of about of over Rs 5.26 crore the ‘Hundi’ collection this year. Over 5.40 lakh pilgrims had darshan of Lord Balaji during Brahmotsavams and ver 3.55 lakh pilgrims tonsured their heads this year as against over 2.23 lakh in previous Brahmotsavams, an increase of over 1.32 lakh pilgrims.
Over 21.77 lakh laddus (small) were sold out during the annual event this year as against over 18.84 lakh, last year with an increase of over 2.42 lakhs, the EO said.
